God Bless America!

I LOVE a theme. Just any reason to celebrate/dress up/eat bad. It gives me something to look forward to. For example, today is Prince Harry's birthday. I tried to wear red in my outfit to honor his ginger hair. It's the small things.
Last Sunday was September 11th. I can't believe it's been 10 years. Sean and I were talking about where we were that day. I was getting ready for seminary that morning (putting my hot-rollers in) and my mom ran into my bathroom. I didn't understand the big deal at the time. I was brushing my teeth in front of the TV to witness the second plane hit. I remember the rest of the day going by very slowly.

Last Sunday also happened to be Sean & I's first Sunday in our new ward. I was nervous to start a family ward after being in a singles ward for almost a decade. I LOVED my Huntington Beach Pierside singles ward. It was really a very, very happy time in my life. All the ways to serve were so fun. A lot of people complain of the 'pains' of that time period, being single and all. I don't get it. It was awesome. Everyday. Sooo my point is I wasn't looking forward to a family ward. Turns out I left smiling. Met some awesome people. It will still take some adjusting, but Sean and I will have fun being the youngest married couple in the ward.

Back to loving themes, I know what you are wondering: what did we wear to church? I bought this patriotic number in high school. It's made a few appearances at 4th of July and Halloween. Sean wore the red, white, and blue tie I got him 2 4th of July's ago. (Sorry to all of Sean's fans out there... didn't correctly save the solo pic of him.)
